Meet Our Pharmacy Staff
James Anderson, DPh
James M. Anderson Jr. is a compounding pharmacist located in Brentwood, TN. He attended Freed-Hardeman University completing a B.S. in biology. James then attended the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis earning his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 1985. Post graduation, James went on to work in various pharmacy practice settings and before long became an independent pharmacy owner. He enjoyed all aspects of this pharmacy setting and developed an interest in compounding. After 18 years, James decided to open a compounding only pharmacy focusing on nonsterile compounds. He has been the founder, owner, and pharmacist in charge of Renew since 2012. Helping patients with the customization of their medications based on their individual needs is a passion of his. James has attended multiple training events and seminars to develop his expertise in personalized medicine compounding. He is currently certified as a Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) specialist and has had training in dermatologic and veterinary medicine compounding. Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy recognizes James as an affiliate faculty member who hosts students to give them exposure to compounding pharmacy practice.
James and his wife, Cindy, have been married for 40 years. They have 3 children and 2 grandchildren. As an Eagle Scout, James has had many outdoor experiences and continues to enjoy all things outdoors. He is also passionate about mission work and has been making week-long trips to Honduras since 2007, typically helping build homes for families.
Michael Whatley, PharmD
Dr. Whatley is a compounding pharmacist with a hormone replacement specialist certificate granted by PCCA. He received his PharmD from Lipscomb University College of Pharmacy as well as a Masters of Management. Outside of the pharmacy, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and two dogs and playing golf.
